Did you know that October is National Breast Cancer awareness month? Is there anyone who hasn’t been touched by this disease? Whether it's a friend, a mother, a co-worker we all know someone who has had breast cancer.
Yesterday, I reached out to a family member whose mother had battled and conquered breast cancer several years ago. It was then she told me that the cancer had come back and is now stage IV metastatic. Currently, only 7% of funds raised go to research for this type of cancer. stoptheinfections is proud to announce we will be donating 10% of our profits this month to the Susan G Komen fund dedicated to metastatic breast cancer. In addition all donations made to the Komen fund from October to December 31 will be matched dollar for dollar by Odonate Therapeutics.
At stoptheinfections, we celebrate women and the female body. This photo of me breastfeeding my son was taken by my husband at a recent photo shoot. It was off the cuff and mostly done just for fun with no real intention to do anything with it. Now, it seems so fitting. The female body is miraculous. It’s ferocious and abundant and a true warrior. Here's to any woman or man who lives and fights breast cancer every day of their life.
